The GED (General Education Development) tests are used to certify a high school level of academic knowledge and skills. The tests are designed so that those who pass must meet or exceed the performance of the top 60% of traditional graduating high school seniors.
The GED tests provide a uniform measure of high school achievement. They are recognized in every state of the union as well as Canada and around the world. They are also accepted by 95% of employers and 97% of colleges and universities.
To earn a GED diploma, candidates must pass a 7-1/2 hour set of five tests that include:
* Writing (including a timed essay)
* Social Studies
* Science
* Reading
* Math
