ITTY BIDDY BASKETBALL RULES Grades 4 thru 8 RULES AND REGULATIONS All Milford Itty Biddy Basketball Rules and Regulations are in addition to the National Federation of High School Athletic Association Official Rules, unless otherwise noted. Referees have the final say!!! REGULATION GAME: A. Games will consist of four 8-minute quarters of time. If a game is tied at the end of regulation play, a 2 (two) minute overtime will be played. Games must end on the hour. B. One timeout per half. One 30 second timeout in overtime. C. Three (3) minutes between halves. D. Five (5) fouls disqualifies a player. E. Dunking or stuffing is prohibited. F. Only a man-to-man defense is allowed in league play. No double-teaming allowed. G. No Guarding of players in backcourt until the last two (2) minutes of game or last two (2) minutes of overtime. If team is up by 10 points or more there will be no press. H. Bonus free throws on the 10th foul of the half. I. The 3-point goal will be allowed in gyms with the line available. PLAYING TIME: This year we will once again maintain the following policy: 1st Qtr. First 4 min. Five players   Second 4 min. Five different players 2nd Qtr. First 4 min. Five players   Second 4 min. Five different players 3rd Qtr. First 4 min. Five players   Second 4 min. Five different players 4th Qtr. First 4 min. Five players   Second 4 min. Five different players Overtime First 2 min. Any Five players GAMES CAN END IN TIE! THE OBVIOUS INTENT OF THIS RULE IS TO INSURE THAT ALL INDIVIDUALS PLAY!!! PLEASE MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO FOLLOW THIS RULE EVERY WEEK!! This is the Itty Biddy Program Philosophy of playing and having fun. SUPERVISORS Supervisors and custodians will monitor the gyms. Individuals are urged to follow their requests. Your cooperation is expected and appreciated. MISCELLANEOUS 1. Sneakers must be worn in the gym at all times. 2. NO FOOD OR BEVERAGES are to be brought into the gyms. 3. Basketballs will be provided. DO NOT bring basketballs from home. 4. Players are to arrive 15 minutes before their scheduled game and must be accompanied by their coach. Do not come into the gym any earlier. 5. Fighting and misconduct will not be tolerated. Fighting will result in immediate expulsion from the game and expulsion from the next game. A second infraction will result in immediate expulsion from the league. 6. Rough play will not be tolerated! 7. The only people on the floor during the games are the players of that game. 8. Practices will not be held when school is cancelled, for example on holidays or when there is a school function using the gym. If time and space is available, the Director of the Community Program will schedule a make-up for practice. 9. Please remember that while everyone enjoys winning, the purpose of the program is to promote basketball and team play. If this is successful, winning will take care of itself.
